Everyday Mentor

Andrew Gray

Hello Reader

Welcome to another edition. I write to you each week with a passion to support your thinking, and strengthen your Inner-Life Health & Sustainability.

Wisdom is the key to life, and even just one transformative revelation can set your life on fire and get you growing like never before!

"The Fast Track"

What would it mean for you to identify a way to reach your goals more effectively, and in shorter time? I'm sure it would make a dramatic difference to your hopes and dreams!

Many times in my career, including in this newsletter, I have spoken and written about the power of asking "Who, NOT How" as a means to fast track your learning. I stand by that assertion. Asking "How" is certainly not wrong, but often, asking "Who" will 'get you there' more quickly.

That's what I want to focus on today. Finding people in your life who can get you on the fast track.

Whether we call them Mentors, Guides or something else, the main truth is that if you can locate people who have travelled on the same path you are on, have experienced success, and are further ahead than you, then you can get yourself on the fast track to where you're trying to go.

Sometimes a Mentor can be identified to help you with a single skill, or a single area of your life, or indeed for everything in the journey of your life.

A great Mentor will do (at least) 3 major things for you;

  1. Get your focus pointed in the right direction
  2. Help you to avoid known potholes and obstacles
  3. Shorten the travel time between your start point and your destination

So, how do you identify a great Mentor?

They should have proven success in their own life.

They should have proven success in helping other people to be successful.

They must be as passionate about making stars as they are about being a star.

Great Mentors are built on the four square foundations of;

GIFT - A God-given talent they were born with

SKILL - The talent has been cultivated and sharpened

EXPERIENCE - It's been in use for a significant period of time

MASTERY - Due to the 3 points above, the person has become exceptional

Sooner or later, for one reason or another, everyone will need a Mentor!

I want to hear from you. What area of your life needs to test the fast track? In what ways could you benefit from engaging with a Mentor in this season?

Until next Tuesday, have a great week!
